7-CF07-Monolithos_edited.jpg

01-13 October
Everyday : 10 a.m - 1 p.m & 5 p.m - 7:30 p.m

The photo exhibition “Following the Sound and Silence“ reflects fragments of the musical path of Arvo Pärt, who has influenced how the nature of music is understood in the modern world. In some parts of this journey, his companions, the conductor Tõnu Kaljuste and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, have shared with him a common creative space full of valuable moments.

The photographers have followed the footprints of the musicians of this unique world. Birgit Püve has captured the composer’s intimate moments in between sound and silence, divine strength and beauty, the word and its profound meaning. Anneli Ivaste has been in the middle of sensitive and dynamic rehearsal processes, when the notes from the score become living sounds in the air. She has witnessed the choir’s (back)stage life, full of passion, focused dedication, and small moments of miracle.

Place : Auberge de France, Ippoton
