DETAILED PROGRAM

Photo and Sound Exhibition: “Résonances”

The third edition of the European Polyphony Festival offers the opportunity to discover the unique exhibition “Résonances”, featuring photography and sound art — the result of an artistic residency born from the collaboration of four artists: Peggy Herbeau and Christophe Fillieule (photography), Chrysanthos Antoniou and Savvas Karantzias (composition).

The exhibition traces the journey of a composer with a disability to Tallinn, where he collaborated with one of the world’s most renowned choirs to create a new musical work. Résonances documents this unique encounter and explores disability through an interdisciplinary lens that merges sound and image. It challenges perceptions and invites visitors to reconsider their relationship with the senses. Each photograph is paired with an original musical composition. QR codes placed beside the works allow visitors to listen to the music as they explore the exhibition. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own headphones for an immersive experience.

This project was made possible through the Culture Moves Europe mobility program, funded by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut, in collaboration with the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and the Festival of European Polyphony.

Du 4 juillet au 28 septembre 2025 ; Pavillon 7, Parc Floral de Paris, route de la Pyramide - 75012, Paris (exposition gratuite - entrée du Parc Floral payante)

Workshop: “Writing on Ostraca, like in Antiquity”

As part of the creative and educational program of the Paris edition, a special epigraphy workshop will invite participants to discover the ancient Greek practice of writing on ostraca. Led by the association Sorbonne Antique, the workshop delves into the use of these humble fragments—often pottery shards—as everyday writing surfaces in antiquity, whether inscribed or inked.

Vendredi 4 juillet de 14h00 à 15h00 ; Salle Le Verrier de la Sorbonne, 17 rue de la Sorbonne - 75005, Paris (entrée gratuite sur réservation).

Conference: “Twelve Eternal Treasures Offered to the World by the Twelve Greek Islands”
(History and civilization – conference in English)

Spyros Syropoulos, Professor of Ancient Greek Literature at the University of the Aegean in Rhodes, will highlight the cultural and historical significance of Rhodes, the administrative center of the Dodecanese. Once home to one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Rhodes contributed to global advancement in law, social integration, and science.

As a cradle of culture influencing the entire Mediterranean, Rhodes holds a living legacy. It also shares a common history with France, shaped by cultural exchanges and a mutual commitment to the ideals of freedom.

Vendredi 4 juillet à 15h00 ; Amphithéâtre Richelieu de la Sorbonne, 17 rue de la Sorbonne - 75005 Paris (entrée gratuite sur réservation)

The concert is under the auspices of the Embassy of Estonia in Paris.

Program includes works by Arvo Pärt, Veljo Tormis, Alfred Schnittke, Cyrillus Kreek, and Einojuhani Rautavaara.

A true creative laboratory, Mikrokosmos immerses the audience in a world of sound and movement, transforming the concert into a dreamlike experience.
